Back to Prime Time last night--Torico intros the evening with the Women's Hockey victory,  then it's off to Men's Slalom.  Almost half of the competitors went off the course.  There’s a point just before a competitor begins their run where his coach yells at him to get going, and based on the noises they made, I’m convinced at least one of them is Klingon (petaQ!)

We start earlier than normal in the coverage, as I had an activity yesterday afternoon.

Back to Prime Time last night--it’s Women’s Hockey time, as they take out host country Italy.  But of course the main story has to be: “Quad God Falls From Grace”, right?  Nope--Mike (from the Duomo) is pretending it didn’t happen yet.  Interesting call, NBC.

Back to Prime Time last night-- It's been 46 years since the “Miracle on Ice”, and now that the US Hockey team has gamed the system by packing it with NHL players, they're doing pretty well--big surprise.

Tirico kicks off Prime Time with the last moments of Women’s Moguls.  The analyst noted that a competitor had not competed for awhile “due to a knee injury”.  I have no idea how that could have happened.  US takes gold AND silver.

Let’s jump into last night’s Prime Time, with Torico sending us straight to Cross Country Sprint.   Klaebo is back!   And the US qualified for the final--Klaebo takes it, with the US’s Ogden winning his second silver.

Let’s jump into last night’s Prime Time, with the finale of the curling match--the two Coreys move ahead!  Torico is finally in Milan, reporting from the Duomo-adjacent set.  Over to Men's Team Combined Alpine Skiing (quite a mouthful).  The downhill portion shows off the graphics and drone work.  Play-by-play announcer Dan Hicks is at the top of his game.

With the Superb Owl out of the way, NBC can finally concentrate on QISE--until the NBA All-Star Game :(  Off to last night’s delayed prime time--

Before we get into Milan’s Opening Ceremony, a quick note on the “preliminary events” (some sports take longer than QISE is technically scheduled, so they start early). 

We’re back with our coverage of what we call the Quadrennial International Sporting Event, to avoid the ire of the QISE Committee.  The winter games of 2026 are being held at dual cities--Milan and Cortina d’ Amezzo, Italy, with the latter holding the majority of the outside events (you will see “Milano Cortina” listed--it’s not a cookie).  Cortina hosted the games 70 years ago, so we’ll see which, if any, of the facilities are being re-used.
